4/16/2015 0 Comments P5.jsNot long from C++, this week we are introduced javascript through the form of P5.js. It is constructed on the bases of javascript and make the code runnable online. The power of javascript makes the code highly powerful and sharable, yet the basic structure is not very different from java.
I reconstructed 2 of my previous work into P5.js. The process is quite fun. 4/2/2015 0 Comments OpenFrameworksSo much time spent on the Java, now it's time to move on to c++. This week we were introduce the software Xcode, and openFrameworks - a toolkit in C++. The level of complexity is really high in this platform, but the upper side is, the debugging tool is really advanced compared to Processing.
The task this week is to make something object oriented using openFrameworks. I took out one of my old project and turned it in to openFrameworks. Biggest challenges so far, but I did it! 3/5/2015 0 Comments Project ClockThe assignment for this week is to construct a new clock. We revisited some of the high school math this week, and I am very happy that some of my math knowledge can finally be put to good use.
Here comes the clock: 2/26/2015 0 Comments Force and Partical System
This week we were introduced the application of objects in coding and it is amazing that me have this function. We get to construct one class and simply call it whenever we need it again.
This week's assignment is to use the object function and create a couple of balls and apply forces to them using Newton's Laws. Furthermore, we should also make the program responsive to mouse clicks and key strokes. Here's a snapshot of what I did:
2/19/2015 1 Comment Data VisualizationThis week's assignment is data visualization. We were given the data from https://data.cityofnewyork.us/d/m6ar-24vj?category=Transportation&view_name=Cyclist-Count-by-Year-At-Selected-Commuter-Location and we were supposed to visualize the number of cyclists seen on certain commute locations in New York. The following is the result of my work. 2/5/2015 0 Comments Sol Lewitt's Wall DrawingToday is the very first day of my coding career. We were introduced the software Processing in class, and it uses the language Java to create programs and drawings.
The first assignment for the class is to make to drawings following the instructions below.
